The Somerset Willow Company first started making willow coffins way back in 1998 and was the first company to grasp the concept and manufacture of willow coffins.
Since then The Somerset Willow Company has helped to shape the green funeral market to what you see today by:
• Demonstrating and exhibiting willow coffins at many green shows, trade events, conferences and funeral exhibitions.
• Educating the general public of the options available to them.
• Setting their willow coffins as the benchmark in high quality in an ever increasing market where poorly made willow/wicker coffins are imported and sold.
Today the company manufactures their willow coffins and funeral products on a relatigvely large scale and now employ 15 basket makers and 5 office staff, with such a demand for their willow coffins, the company in order to secure future willow supplies partnered and created direct ties with its sister company ‘Somerset Willow Growers’ whom grow, process and supply its natural willow material.
The Company also set up its sister company ‘Natural Woven Products’ in 2008 to offer environmentally friendly coffins at less expensive prices, of course in keeping with the companies strong beliefs all of Natural Woven Products coffins and caskets are also made to the absolute highest standards.
The Company has gone from strength to strength over the years and hopes to be able offer its products to more and more people in the future.
