About Us

about1With over four generations of skill and expertise and an honest and dedicated passion for all things willow, we’ve been able to remain right at the forefront of our industry as the UK’s leading basket maker. Quality, innovation and a first class service have all contributed to our success over the years.

Our Values
We first started making willow coffins in 1998, since then we’ve continued to provide a passionate, loving and dedicated alternative for those families wishing to make one of our Somerset willow coffins the final fitting tribute to their loved one. At the most difficult of times the smallest things can make a big difference and that’s why we go the extra mile to make sure that each one of our coffins are unique and special.

teamAll of our willow coffins are lovingly handmade and finished in our Somerset workshops by one of our experienced basket makers using willow grown locally on the Somerset levels. Our willow coffins can be personalised with a beautiful selection of coloured banding and handles upon the family’s request, In addition, we can weave into the coffin, matching crosses, symbols and designs should this be the wish of the family.

Our Somerset willow coffins make the perfect lasting footprint for the environmentally conscious individual seeking to have a greener send-off.

Willow is a wonderful material that has many ecological attributes making it one of the few truly environmentally friendly materials available. To see why willow is so celebrated please take a look at our environmental aspects page.

about3Who We Are
We’re still very much a family run business with Darrell Hill and Anthony Hill, third and fourth generations collectively leading from the front.

We’re based near Bridgwater right at the heart of the Somerset Levels and are lucky to work with a team of 20 passionate individuals of which 17 are fully trained basket makers. With a desire to teach apprentices a traditional handcraft, each of our employees must complete a minimum five year training program. This ensures that each item we make is of the highest possible quality and standards.

Traditional at heart, yet contemporary in vision, we’re always looking to the future and glancing back at the same time, to remember the values and beliefs that have brought us to the point we stand today.
